Sadly I am having to replace my Odessey PC-680. It only lasted from 10/18/2011 to yesterday 9/07/2017. I was hoping for it to go for SIX years and it almost did. I used a Battery Tender trickle charger to maintain it.

These batteries are amazing little beasts. I have been flying them for 10 years in my RV-7A. I get about 3 years out of them before I feel like they are just not up to it for my plane. Old ones go into my riding lawn mower and tractor where they live many more years. Great product.

These batteries are quite dependable. this my second one since I first flew my airplane in 2013. I had unfortunately left my master switch on and drained the battery completely a few times over the years but it always came back to full power when charged. I just thought I wouldnt press my luck with it and purchased another one.The old one still works well in my lawn tractor!

I am very happy with this Odyssey PC680. I used it in my Carbon Cub EX. Lasted 3 years. Not bad for a little battery in a high compression 180HP engine.

Fits he standard battery box in my RV9a kit. Looking at Odysseys website it appeared the present batch of batteries might be longer or wider than the one I received from Aircraft Spruce although they carry the same 680 PC designation.

I have heard good things about these PC680s in the past but I have had two new ones fail on me in the last year. They each worked for about six months and then they lost cranking power. Most likely a dead cell. I never used either of them down to no charge, I think odyssey just isnât making them the same anymore.

My 3rd Odyssey battery in my homebuilt Cavalier. Compact, relatively light, sealed and with a good life allowed installation on the firewall instead of in the baggage compartment improving cg, empty weight and reducing voltage loss when starting.

Going to give this battery 2 stars because of the recent longevity issue with the recent PC 680 battery, which is the third battery used in my aircraft. After 12 months of use, this battery barley turned the prop. After 2 more months, the battery failed completely and would not even take a charge. I normally had gotten 3 – 4 years of service life with the previous PC680 batteries. Might of gotten a bad battery this latest purchase. Returned battery for exchange (24 month warranty) and awaiting credit for the recent purchase of a new battery. One last note, another aircraft owner operator in our flying community also had longevity issues with the PC680 battery, even using the Odessy battery charger.

I bought an airplane from an estate that sat for four years. I turned on the master switch and the master light came on. I took the battery out and put it in another plane expecting to jump start it. Hit the starter switch to see if I had connection, and it turned over. Amazingly, it started the pane…barely, but it did. Charged it up and it works fine…

New Battery was defective, voltage dropped from 13.6 to under 8volts when cranking the starter, would not pass compression stroke. Aircraft shipped a replacement immediately and had me return the defective free of charge. Replacement one works great!

I recently purchased a plane and the owner suggested I replace the battery since it was the original – meaning a battery made in 2006! The battery showed no signs of needing replacement but not something Im willing to risk for $130. Based on the excellent life of the previous battery, buying another Odyssey was an easy choice.
