This is the battery we have had almost no issues with over the ten plus years we have used them. Consistent power and reliability. We have used them in multiple applications.

SBSJ16 battery. Long a standard, now sadly considered to be junk by most GA aircraft owners. Seldom lasts beyond 2 years. This has been my experience also.

Great battery. I calculated, that with the given charging cycles, this battery should last 3-4 years at the rate I fly. The battery (same make and model) lasted 9 years before dying. To me, that is a very good value.

Powersafe Battery SBSJ16.I have purchased three of these batteries. The first was installed when I changed my C-180 fuselage battery to the firewall battery location three years ago. During a cross-country trip out west this Sept 2021, the plane failed to start on Orcas Island, WA. The battery was found to be swollen and melted. The plane was prop started. A new battery was ordered, and installed in California. After one day flying to Wyoming, the new battery was also swollen and melted. It showed low voltage in flight. It would not charge by generator. It would charge by wall charger and hold enough charge to start the plane twice each day, as long as no electric systems were used in flight. I got back to Pennsylvania that way. During the repair, the generator was found to be destroyed. The third new battery was installed and a new alternator was installed replacing the generator. On the one hour flight from the IA/A&P to home, all seemed in order. However, on the same day, after a 2.5 hr flight to Ohio, this third battery is now also swollen with signs of plastic melt. It still charges without problem and voltage in flight remains 14.2 V.We dont know what the problem is. I only fly VFR day light, but having three swollen, melted batteries in one and a half months gives one pause.

I have had this in my aircraft for over a year. I am amazed at the cranking power. Plus, I do not have to worry about it freezing in extreme cold here in NE MN. If that were not enough, I gained 12 pounds of useful load!

Works great last one lasted 10 years lightweight and can mount on it side. Turns aircraft over fantastic. The shipping and service was great.

My last one was in the airplane 15 years. I’m only too happy to buy another. Although they were out of stock over the holidays, AS bent over backwards to get one or me. Can’t beat that.

I have used these batteries for 20 years. I replaced them in about fours years is I was going to remote areas. I would use the ones I pulled out for various jobs in the Hanger. They would last another 10 years in the hanger, What really surprised me is they would hold a charge all winter.

Best batteries I ever had! Would never buy anything else.One in my Glasair since 2003!! Airplane sometimes sat for over 6 month, without recharging battery, but it cranked the 0-360 over effortlessly.The other one in my Slepcev Stork, since 2007.Never any problems, never had to recharge.Have a bigger one in my VW van since two years.Truely great product. Fit like a glove, in the under seat battery box in my Cub. Now, the B&C starter gets the O-200 motor going, even on cold mornings.

I like the battery. But it seems to only last around 3-4 years in a Cessna 185. I keep in on the BatteryMinder specific for this battery. Probably my third battery so far. Would get 5 stars if it lasted 7 years….or even 6. Seems like the older versions of the same battery lasted longer.

The battery came with no hardware to attach the cables. When I was running a shop and working on GA aircraft for 51 years I sold hundreds of batteries. Never knew them to come without hardware. Never sold one of these though. It is 6 mm by the way.

Accidentally left the master on for a few hours ran the battery done to 11.9 volts. It still had enough to start the O-360 the next morning without a jump… Id say pretty good battery considering its size and weight.

Great product! Replaced my Gill battery I have been replacing every couple of years for last 25 years. Smaller, lighter and cranked over my o320 better than my Gill batteries when they were new.

This battery is great. Fits in a tight area. Does not have to stand upright.

This is by far the best battery we have installed in any aircraft. We have replaced many Concorde and Gill batteries with this little gem through field approvals. Our first installation of this battery was in 2008 and it is performing like new yet and that install has no charging system.

Just replaced this battery in my Christavia MK-1. Originally installed in April 2004 when plane was completed. 0-200cranks fast, easy starts. I hope this one also last 19 years.Great battery!
